Teacher of the Month is recognized
MIAMISBURG – Patty DeMott is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery. She is a teacher at Mark Twain Elementary located in Montgomery County. She teaches science/social studies to fifth graders.
Amber Cristofaro, Community Outreach Coordinator, says that, “Ms. DeMott is a passionate and innovative asset to our students and school. This year she wrote a grant to purchase an aeroponic tower garden for the fifth graders. Students had the opportunity to learn about how crops are grown, hand pollination, the nutrients in fresh vegetables, scientific inquiry, and more,” The students were excited about the garden harvest and they were able to sample the fruits they planted with a salad party. “Ms. DeMott is the epitome of an exceptional teacher, providing classroom engagement and student led learning opportunities daily. She is a shining example on the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and giving back to the community,” says Cristofaro.
For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Patty DeMott will receive an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery along with a gift card.
