Wrapping up September with Winner Wednesday

We've got winners of all sorts in today's Winner Wednesday!

First up, Jonathan from Mount Blanchard! He took home the top prize of $40,000 a year for 25 years on the Millions scratch-off.

He chose the annuity prize, so he'll be celebrating for the next 25 years.

Jonathan bought his winning ticket at Carey Food Mart in Carey.

Pepper the Pig and her owner Leah Rose took home the grand prize in our Lucky Pet, Lucky Owner Giveaway!

Now Leah has $400 worth of Doggone Lucky Scratch-Offs to enjoy!

Retailers are winning too this week!

Midland 1st Stop in Midland sold a winning $100,000 Rolling Cash 5 ticket for the September 27, 2021 drawing.  The winning numbers were 2-4-24-29-38.

Little Red Mill in Belle Center sold a winning Lucky for Life ticket worth $25,000 for the September 27, 2021 drawing. The winning numbers were 1-13-17-40-45. 

Our 8-Bit at Bat Grand Slam Giveaway winners cashed in their prize packages over the weekend.

Lisa Goebel of Independence spent her Saturday night at the Cleveland Indians game.

John Lister of Cincinnati enjoyed his grand prize at the Cincinnati Reds game.

Both winners received tickets to the game, money for overnight accomodations, gas, food, and merchandise at the park, and a $4,000 VISA gift card.

Winner Wednesday

We're halfway through the week, and that means it's time for winners.

Jonathan from Lancaster shared his big win on social media with us.. He scratched his way to a $10,000 on Millions! He bought his winning ticket at Speedway #9773 in Lancaster.

James from Zanesville won $20,000 playing Moneybag Multiplier. He bought his winning ticket at Par Mar Store #48 in Zanesville.

And Kinnal from North Ridgeville celebrated a $10,000 win on $100 Million Cash Extravaganza.

Stow-Munroe Falls High School has a big win to celebrate. The school was named the Ohio Lottery Partners in Education 2020-2021 School of the Year!

The school received a $1,000 Office Max gift card, sports memorabilia from Ohio's professional teams to be used for fundraising efforts, and a trophy to display proudly. Click here to see the celebration video.

Tonight's Powerball jackpot has reached $490 million!

Tickets for the Powerball drawing are $2 each, and you can add the PowerPlay for an additional $1 to amplify your non-jackpot prizes.

Don't Get Scammed

Scams. 

We really don't like them, and as our social channels get more and more busy, we want to make sure you can spot a scam.

We've noticed a lot of them popping up as comments on our official Instagram posts recently.

Some claim to help you make a lot of money in crypto trade, some claim that you can get financial assistance by sending a direct message to the commenter. 

Don't do it.

When you see on one of these comments that ask you to direct message an account you don't know, you should not engage with the comment. 

Some other helpful tips to protect your information include:
 
  • Unless you specifically entered a promotion or second-chance drawing sponsored by the Ohio Lottery Commission, you will never be contacted by us informing you that you have won a prize.
  • Never accept a collect call from anyone claiming to be an Ohio Lottery official
  • Keep your credit card and bank account numbers to yourself.
  • Be sure you are on the Ohio Lottery’s official social channels when talking about the lottery online. Look for the blue check mark before interacting on social media. You can also find our official social media pages here:

Responsible Gaming Is Always A Good Idea!

This week marks Responsible Gaming Education Week, and it's our opportunity to remind you that gambling responsibly is the key to keeping it fun!

Mega and Powerball Top $400 Million Each

$862 million! 

That's how much you could win with this weekend's combined Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots!

Tonight's Mega Millions jackpot is $405 million with an estimated cash value of $294.7 million. If there's a winner, it will be the 13th largest jackpot-winner in the game's history.

Powerball is gearing up for a fun Saturday night with a jackpot of $457 million. The estimated cash value is $331.6 million.

Congratulations to the Partners in Education School of the Year!

Congratulations are in order for Stow-Munroe Falls High School in Stow! The school is the Ohio Lottery Partners in Education 2020-2021 School of the Year!

How did they win the award?

SMFHS was selected in a random drawing comprised of 162 Ohio schools who participated in the Lottery’s Partners in Education program during the 2020-2021 school year.

Student Rosa Tate was nominated for Academic All-Star which made the school eligible for the School of the Year drawing.

We loaded them up with some goodies including a School of the Year trophy, a $1,000 gift card to Office Max, and autographed team merchandise from major and minor league sports teams across Ohio to be used for fundraising efforts.

All students and staff also received a Partners in Education back sack.

Now's your chance to get in on the Partners in Education excitement! Each month during the school year, September to May, we accept nominations for Teacher of the Month and Academic All-Star.

Winner Wednesday

Winning is the name of the game on a Winner Wednesday, and we've got a few fun winners to share!

Ohio Millions brought a players in Willard and Londonberry big wins last week.

Carlos from Willard played Ohio Millions and won $10,000. He bought his lucky winning ticket at Willard Convenience Mart.

Carla from Londonderry also won $10,000 playing Ohio Millions! She purchased her ticket from Par Mar in Chillicothe. 

Andrew from Olive Hill, KY bought a $5 Cash Multiplier scratch-off and won a $150,000 top prize. He purchased his winning ticket at Circle K #5228 in Ironton. 

$500,000 Cashword brought Charlotte from Bidwell a lot of luck! $10,000 to be exact. She bought her scratch-off from Brown Brothers in Gallipolis.

Neal from Dayton bought a Bingo X10 scratch-off and won $10,000. Valero Gas Station, located at 201 Valley St. in Dayton sold the winning ticket. 

The holiday weekend brought a big Powerball win and a Rolling Cash 5 win. 

Lakeside Sports Shop sold a winning $1 million Powerball ticket. MBS Smoke and Cell sold a winning $140,000 Rolling Cash 5 ticket.

Big Weekend for Jackpots

Triple 7's are commonly associated with good luck, so it might be a sign that you should give Mega Millions and Powerball a try this weekend.

The jackpots are a combined $777 million! 
 
The Mega Millions jackpot for tonight's drawing is $368 million.

The Powerball jackpot for tomorrow night's drawing is $409 million.

September Kicks Off with Winner Wednesday

Do you hear that? It's the sound of our sunny summer days ticking down to fall!

It's a good thing that no matter what season it is, we always have winners to celebrate! 

Loretta from Alliance won $15,000 on the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket™! She's making her list and checking it twice to buy Christmas presents with her winnings.  

Perrysville C-Store sold a winning Lucky for Life ticket for the August 25, 2021 drawing. One lucky player won $25,000 a year for life! 

Cherish of New Marshfield won $10,000 on a Moneybag Multiplier scratch-off! She purchased her winning ticket at South Sixty Market in Zanesville.  


Megan won $500 playing Lady Luck! She bought her winning ticket from Midei Food & Fuel in Tiltonsville and plans to pay some bills with her winnings. 

Leslie of Lorain is all smiles after claiming a $5,200 prize from the evening Pick 4 drawing held June 14. He chose his own numbers, placing a "back-up bet" at Vinny's Sunoco in Lorain. 

Sheena and her husband Samuel stopped in to claim a $300,000 prize on Special Edition Cashword! Sheena purchased her winning ticket at Chauncey Food Mart. 

Josh and Samantha used the #IWonTheOHLottery to share their win with us on social media. They bought a Cash Multiplier scratch-off at Speedway in Gallipolis and won $500. They plan to spend their winnings on their children.
