Read about April’s awesome students:

“I have seen a complete change in her grades and her attitude. She has more focus than ever. She wants to be a firefighter. She helps anyone, even those who unfortunately don’t have her same trust or commitment to the friendship, but she hasn’t let that stop her. She is smart, beautiful, funny, talented, and an amazing daughter that we are so proud of.” – Melissa Ditto, Parent
“My granddaughter is a caring, giving, and intelligent young lady. She made the honor roll for the first three quarters at Lakewood High. She is a beautiful, loving girl and I believe she will have a lot to offer this world as an adult. Her goal is to acquire a scholarship for college, and I believe she will as she is very focused on this goal and knows what she wants for her life. I am very, very proud of her.” – Jean Pandoli, Grandparent

“Brayden is a very accomplished young man: excellent student on the honor roll and a very accomplished athlete. Brayden participates in golf, football, basketball, and swimming. Brayden also is in the band and enjoys the percussion instruments. I had the pleasure of coaching Brayden in swimming. It did not matter how tired he was. When he got to the pool, he always gave me 100% effort. Brayden is also a leader among his peers and is one you can always count on to do the right thing.” – Karol Brown Warden, Coach

“I believe she is a good student. She has always pushed to do her best and achieve her goals. She puts in full effort into everything she does. She’s dedicated, responsible, and a hard worker. Chelsea never lets anyone down. Her outstanding attitude and the way she pushes herself makes her stand out. She won’t give up until she is happy and meets all of her goals.” – Jessica Blasenhauer, Parent

“If you were to look up the word ‘kindness’ in the dictionary, at the end of the definition you would see, ‘See how Rachel Exum treats others.’ Rachel is a 7th grader who treats her fellow classmates and adults in her school community with nothing but kindness. Rachel’s willingness to put aside sitting with her friends to sit with a classmate who needs a patient and kind table partner sets her apart from her from her peers, making her deserving of being an Academic All Star.” – Jackie Brown, Teacher
“Sarah Myers exemplifies model character and behavior. She is a leader among her peers and continues to impress her teachers with her desire to excel in her academics. In addition to Honors Geometry and Honors Literature and Composition, Sarah is also taking Honors Biology, Spanish, Integrated History and Computer Graphic Arts II. She works hard, maintains a focus on her education, and exhibits all the traits of an academic all star!” – Sara Dittfeld, Teacher

“Angie is a top-notch student! She has excellent character and a high intrinsic motivation. She has taken most of our most rigorous courses and has excelled in them. She has also competed in cross country, swimming, and track throughout her time at PHS; and is a member of NHS, BioClub, and a handful of other organizations. Angie does all of this while maintaining a 4.3 GPA and remaining ranked 1st in her class.” – Ashlie Gowitzka, Teacher
“This humble and hardworking lady continues to impress me with her talents. Grace is a member of our

Career Education Opportunity program and works in a middle school classroom as an intern. Grace handles this course as if she is a student teacher about to enter a career of education. Grace is a leader in our marching band and is involved in athletics. She is a top academic student and most recently led our robotics team to the World Competition in Houston, TX. Her personality stands tall amongst her peers and she certainly lights a room up with her presence” – Bob Priest, Administrator

“Luke has taken an interest in math. He has worked very hard on keeping his grades up. He has also been attending the Math Counts Club and competed in the Math Counts local virtual competition. Luke is confident in who he is and is always willing to help his peers.” – Samantha Farrier, Teacher
