“I believe Mrs. Bartram should be considered for teacher of the month because she always does the ‘extras.’ Mrs. Bartram serves as a mentor for new teachers, she volunteers for the Parent Teacher Organization and has been the treasurer for the past 9 years, she serves on our district LPDC committee and has volunteered for many other committees and roles throughout her 25-year career. The roles Mrs. Bartram volunteers for are time-consuming and often not glamorous but are necessary for operating a successful school. She has never failed to help where needed and even inspires other people to take on extra roles. It would be wonderful to see Mrs. Bartram be recognized for her hard work and dedication.” - Principal Mahlmeister
“She is awesome, so kind, thoughtful, helpful and sweet. The school is lucky to have Hannah as an educator in the district.” - Destyana Booth, Student
“Mrs. Hurtt teaches my twins in writing, social studies, and science daily. This year, they are so excited to work on writing and to learn new strategies and techniques to improve writing, that they don't even look forward to the weekend. They tell me on Saturday that they wish it was Sunday, because they are ready to get back to school and work on writing. They practice writing at home almost every day. They proofread their writing and ask me if I feel their writing passage is that of a ‘five-star writer.’ I have never seen my kids more excited to learn and to participate in their own learning. I have also noticed them giving and seeking feedback from one another and assessing their own learning. I believe this is a testament to the learning environment that Mrs. Hurtt is providing every day. She motivates her students, cares deeply about them, is invested in their interests and is someone that my twins look forward to seeing every single day. As a teacher, I can truly appreciate this, because I know how difficult it is to get kids to love learning and to embrace challenges while seeking feedback to improve.” - Jaci Raike, Parent

“When Norah is presented a challenge, she steps up to meet it. She obtains A’s and B’s at Fallen Timbers Middle School. But, what’s even better? She gets up with a positive attitude to start her day. After school, she heads off to an extracurricular activity. She is currently a red belt in karate which requires a 2 day a week commitment, if not more. A black belt is in her near future! She takes weekly piano lessons and entertains us more frequently when she practices her piano at home. Also, learning to play the clarinet is a goal of hers and she recently joined her school band. She plays on a soccer team and basketball team several days of the week. As if that is not enough, she plays with her younger brother and helps keep an eye on the younger kids in the neighborhood. It is such a joy watching her take on all these activities, especially when she does them with a positive, eager attitude. Her level of commitment at her age is commendable.” - Rachel Van Niel, Parent
“Heidi is always ready, respectful, resourceful and responsible at school. She participates in class, works hard to be successful in the class and is a good example for her peers. Not only is Heidi a great addition to a classroom, but she is also involved in multiple activities at school like volleyball, cheer, basketball, Ruriteens, Lifewise, and is an active participant in her church. Overall, Heidi is the type of student that brings joy to her teachers, family, and friends.” - Cathy Aviles, Principal
“Brady is very intuitive with noticing others and is described as kind and helpful. He likes to make people feel good with a positive comment or kind word. He has a keen sense of love for others and humanity as a whole.” – Brain Gaughan
