Combined Mega Millions and Powerball Jackpots Nearing $1 Billion

CLEVELAND, OH – As the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots continue to grow, the Ohio Lottery urges players to enjoy the games safely and responsibly by maintaining social distancing and wearing a mask when making their purchases.

The jackpots have grown to a combined $990 million for drawings set for Friday, January 8, 2021 and Saturday, January 9, 2021.

The Mega Millions jackpot is $520 million, the 8th largest jackpot in the game’s history. The estimated cash value is $383.4 million.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is $470 million. The estimated cash value of $362.7 million. It’s the 10th largest jackpot in the game’s history.

Mega Millions and Powerball tickets are $2 each. Players can add the Megaplier or the Power Play for an additional $1 for the chance to multiply non-jackpot prizes.

Ohio Lottery customers can purchase tickets in retail by visiting the counter or limit face-to-face interaction by using one of the Ohio Lottery self-service machines.
