Teacher of the Month

The Partners in Education Teacher of the Month award recognizes outstanding K-12 teachers for their excellence in the classroom, leadership, creativity and community involvement and dedication on behalf of Ohio students.

      Matt Kramer – Liberty Union-Thurston High School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      BALTIMORE – Matt Kramer is a teacher at Liberty Union-Thurston High School located in Fairfield County.  He was recently honored by the Ohio Lottery as a Teacher of the month; he teaches English to ninth and tenth graders.

      Parent Cortni Brunty says, “I believe Mr. Kramer should be considered for the Ohio Lottery Teacher of the Month award because he goes above and beyond to make sure his students get the most out of his class.  For example, he is reading a novel with his freshman class and he has tied the history part into the novel so that he’s reaching more than just the students that enjoy reading.  My child has Mr. Kramer as her English teacher and she raves at home about him because she can tell that he’s put a lot of time and effort into his class.  She enjoys history so she is thankful that he’s put so much time and effort in his lessons.”

      Kramer is active in the community and is also the boys Varsity coach for basketball.  He is a dedicated staff member and wonderful role model for his students.

      Michele Holzschu – Morrison-Gordon Elementary School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      ATHENS – Michele Holzschu is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program.  She is a music teacher at Morrison-Gordon Elementary located in Athens County.

      “She does such a wonderful job with the students and makes sure they truly enjoy music.  They get the opportunity to not only learn songs to sing but learn to play instruments as well.  She is such an asset to the school,” according to parents Joel and Alicia Porter.

      Leah Sheldon – Wickliffe Middle School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      WICKLIFFE – Leah Sheldon is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program.  She teaches Instrumental Music at Wickliffe Middle School located in Lake County.
        
      Pamela Graves, Instrumental Director, says that “Mrs. Sheldon is a strong and caring person and along with her talents, helps direct the HS Band, assists others on routines and helps with music as well as organization.”  She is described as an asset to the school. She is referred to as creative and encouraging to her students.  She encourages them to be involved with their rehearsals and fundraising.  Her latest project was earning money towards purchasing new instruments.  She headed up a band shoe drive.  

      Sheldon is making a difference and is a dedicated musician and teacher. She is the kind of person that “always adds a little something extra to a class,” says Graves.

      Joseph Yuska – Strongsville High School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      STRONGSVILLE – A teacher from Strongsville High School, Joseph Yuska, was recently named a Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery.  The school is in Cuyahoga County. 

      Yuska teaches biology to 9-12 graders and is described as “invaluable.”  He is willing to work with fellow staff members in his classroom.  He gains the respect of his students.  He is willing to help his students and enjoys helping in other subject areas as well.  He is referred to as a “Science expert.”  Students have a great rapport with him and are comfortable asking Yuska for help.

      Jamie Windle – Hamilton Elementary School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      COLUMBUS – Jamie Windle is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program.  She is a third -grade teacher at Hamilton Elementary School located in Franklin County.  

      “Jamie Windle is a team player.  She is always on board to do what is best for the students.  She is positive and helps create a warm and friendly culture in our building.    She is a huge part of the Special Events committee and gives her time without ever needing recognition.  She is an asset to our building” says Mrs. Starkey, a fellow teacher in the building.

      Rebecca Telischak – Mentor High School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      MENTOR – Rebecca Telischak is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program.  She teaches 12th grade English at Mentor High School located in Lake County.

      Telischak is described as exemplifying what it means to advocate for students.  She is involved with many activities at Mentor High School and the community.  She attends individualized meetings to show support for her students.  She is involved with AC4P, a group that works on actively caring for all people at the school.  She changes the lives of every student she encounters, according to Adam Dudziak. She is known as an effective and outstanding teacher and is always willing to help her students.

      Deborah Madsen – East Palestine High School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      EAST PALESTINE – Deborah Madsen is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program.  She was recently honored by the Ohio Lottery as a Teacher of the Month.  She teaches at East Palestine High School located in Columbiana County. 
       
      She teaches English and Honors English to her students along with prep courses for the ACT.  She is dedicated to supporting her students and is willing to assist students with the goals for academics and beyond.  She finds the strengths in her students and encourages and motivates students to do well and succeed.

      Kristi Lehmkuhl – Elida High School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      ELIDA – Kristi Lehmkuhl is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program. She teaches at Elida High School located in Allen County.
        
      Jeremy Kindle (a parent at the school) comments that, “Ms. Lehmkuhl encompasses so many great characteristics as a teacher.  She truly cares and works hard to communicate with parents and get them active and engaged in their child’s education.”  Two of his sons have had her as a teacher.  “Her advocacy for my second son was just as great as my first son.  I believe Ms. Lehmkuhl invests her time into all of the children that she teaches, and for that she has forever made a difference in their lives,” says Kindle. 

      Lehmkuhl is described as very involved in the community and is referred to as an “outstanding educator to children” and is a “dedicated teacher”.  She makes an impact each day as she molds the minds and hearts of her students.

      Lindsey Escobar – Mark Twain Elementary School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      MIAMISBURG – Lindsey Escobar is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program.  She teaches kindergarten at Mark Twain Elementary School located in Montgomery County. 

      Amber Cristofaro says that, “Mrs. Escobar is an energetic and enthusiastic teacher.  With both an AM and PM class each day, Mrs. Escobar goes above and beyond to make sure her students get a kindergarten experience that prepares them for the years to come.  For many students, her class is their first glimpse of formal education. “  

      She works hard to make sure her students learn but also have fun.  She makes certain their needs are met academically and that they are prepared socially for the future.  Her peers and the parents respect her and look up to her. The school is lucky to have such a dedicated caring teacher on staff.

      John Hyder – Teays Valley West Middle School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      COMMERCIAL POINT – John Hyder is Teacher of the Month for the Partners in Education Program.  He teaches grades 6-8 at Teays Valley West Middle School located in Pickaway County.

      Allison Swanger, the assistant principal at the school says, “Mr. John Hyder is ALL IN helping us get our Tech Assistance Team up and running.  We have had a very smooth transition to our 1 to 1 initiative due to John’s assistance in the development of the team.   He has worked with his students to develop and communicate necessary procedures, documentation and policy.  Students are quickly becoming capable of providing assistance to students and staff.

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      ATHENS – Jaclyn Talbert is a Teacher of the Month.  She teaches at Morrison-Gordon Elementary School located in Athens County.  

      “Mrs. Talbert” is described as a wonderful teacher who shows concern and care for her students.  She goes out of her way for her first- grade students who are many times scared as they transition from kindergarten.  She makes that transition as easy as possible and keeps the communication between home and school going.  She is patient and kind and recognizes that teaching is more than planning lessons but in helping the whole child and caring for them.

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      MINERVA – Carole Meiroff is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program.  She teaches fourth grade at Minerva Elementary School located in Stark County.
       
      Meiroff is described as a “special angel” that goes above and beyond for her students and their needs.  She shows her students love and support.  She is active in the town and supports the fundraisers and community events.  She is a leader in the building and leads with excellence.  She makes an impact and difference on the lives of both her students and their families.  She is positive, kind and shows compassion and encouragement to those she works with whether it is a student or a peer.  She helps promote confidence in her students and improve their overall well-being.  She is a blessing to her school district.

      Marie Waltz – Mentor High School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      MENTOR – Marie Waltz is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery.  She teaches social studies at Mentor High School located in Lake County.

      Waltz is described by Assistant Principal James McMahon as a “veteran member” of the social studies department.  “She is a master teacher who consistently pushes herself to improve and experiment with new instructional strategies while remaining grounded in the time-tested virtues of maintaining high expectations for students and fostering instructional rigor,” says Assistant Principal James McMahon.

      She has served as coordinator of Faculty Council and created an online sociology course.

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      EAST PALESTINE – Kandace Best was recently honored by the Ohio Lottery as a Teacher of the Month.  She teaches Science/STEM at East Palestine Middle School located in Columbiana County.

      Best is described as one of “our best” middle school Science and Stem Teachers.  She uses hands on materials to engage her students and organizes events for the students and their families. She is enthusiastic and brings a zest for educating her students.  She inspires them to do well.  She organized  the STEM and Science Night as well as the Science fair.  She volunteers for several activities at the school and is devoted to her profession.

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      STRONGSVILLE – Kim Orr was recently honored by the Ohio Lottery as a Teacher of the Month.  She is a teacher at Strongsville High School located in Cuyahoga County.  She teaches English and makes a difference in the lives of her students each day.

      Orr is described as a competent teacher.  Teacher Ann Walz says, “She knows all the needs and accommodations of her students with special needs in her classes.  She creates and modifies work that meets both the need of the student and the expectations of the curriculum and teachers.”  She is a teacher who brings creativity and love of theater to the classes she teaches.  She is there for all her students and makes them feel comfortable asking for help.  She maintains good relationships with the parents and fellow faculty.  She is a leader in the school and in the department.  She is dedicated to her profession.

      William Butterfield – Mentor High School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      MENTOR – William Butterfield is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery.  He is a teacher at Mentor High School located in Lake County. He teaches computer science to his students.

      Butterfield is described as patient and kind and is devoted to his students.  He recently spent a whole class planning period helping a student.  He is described as going “above and beyond” for his students.

      Nancy Wild – Holy Trinity School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      AVON – Nancy Wild is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery.  She is a fourth and fifth grade math teacher at Holy Trinity School.  

      Wild makes certain that her students succeed.  She goes above and beyond to ensure that the students are able to learn the math skills that they need.  She teaches them organization and keeps them engaged by offering a variety of teaching models.  “With my position at Holy Trinity, I have the opportunity to observe many teachers, and there are good things happening all over this building; however, Mrs. Wild’s organization and patience is something to admire.  She models this to her students by constantly working with them to stay organized,” says Lane Forthofer, a building sub and math specialist.

      Chandra Juhasz – Rocky River Middle School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      ROCKY RIVER – Chandra Juhasz was recently named a Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery.  Juhasz is a seventh- grade science teacher at Rocky River Middle School located in Cuyahoga County.  

      Juhasz provides access to technology for her students by creating projects and online assessments.  She was selected by the Ohio Middle Level Association to make a presentation at a conference in October.  She gets to know her students on a personal level.  She writes engaging lesson plans.

      Jen Noble –Mark Twain Elementary School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      MIAMISBURG – Jen Noble is a teacher at Mark Twain Elementary located in Montgomery County.  She was recently named a Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program. She teaches all grade levels as an Intervention Specialist. “Jen is one of those rare people that can connect with both her students and co-workers on a level that is unparalleled,” says Amber Cristofaro, Community Outreach Coordinator.
         
      Noble is described as having a positive attitude and a kindness about her.  She keeps focusing on her students’ progress and encourages them to grow by being positive towards them.   She is devoted to her job and goes above and beyond as a team member both outside and inside of the classroom and community.

      Brooke Paxton –Circleville Middle School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      CIRCLEVILLE – Brooke Paxton is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program.  She teaches seventh grade at Circleville Middle School located in Pickaway County. 

      Paxton recently wrote and attained a grant to provide copies of the book Wonder to every student.  She has encouraged kindness throughout the entire school in the form of service projects.  She organizes school spirit events and a literacy fair for the building.  She is a wonderful role model for her peers.  Communications Director Evan Debo says, “Her contributions are beyond reproach and immeasurable to student achievement.”

      Josette Folk – Louisville Middle School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      LOUISVILLE – Josette Folk is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery Partners in Education program.  Folk is a physical education teacher at Louisville Middle School located in Stark County.

      “Mrs. Folk motivates everybody to be the best they could possibly be.  She is a Program Advisor for the Fuel up to Play 60, which motivates kids to eat healthy and play at least 60 minutes a day.  She is always willing to talk if you need someone to talk to, or offer advice when you need help,” says student Emma McCalla.

      Folk helped organize Olympic Days, rallies and many after school activities.  She is a great role model for students and her peers.  She is a dedicated teacher and staff member both inside and outside of the classroom.

      Nicole Mathias – Sebring McKinley High School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      EAST PALESTINE – Nicole Mathias is a teacher at Sebring McKinley High School located in Mahoning County.  Mathias was recently honored by the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program as a Teacher of the Month.  She teaches English, CCP Composition and CCP Literature.

      Fellow colleague Debbie Weibush says, “Mrs. Mathias is a true leader among our faculty.  She has organized us into committees who have accomplished many great things for our students. We have developed and refined an excellent and successful reward system.  Under her leadership we have examined and analyzed data to improve test scores.”  She formed an Improvement Committee to try to keep the student numbers up and improve the image of the school locally.  She improves the state test scores each year and works hard to be an inspiration to both teachers and students.

      Kathleen Aranavage – Chagrin Falls Middle School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      CHAGRIN FALLS – Kathleen Aranavage is a teacher at Chagrin Falls Middle School located in Cuyahoga County. Aranavage teaches Spanish to eighth grade students. She was recently honored by the Ohio Lottery as a Teacher of the Month. 

      Laila Discenza, Principal of Chagrin Falls Middle School, describes Aranavage as a “caring adult, leader, and reflective practitioner.” Discenza says, “I am consistently impressed with the instructional strategies used daily, the level of school commitment, dedication depicted and the contagious passion exuded.  A passion for teaching.  A passion for learning.  A passion for middle level students.”  

      Aranavage offers her time and knowledge.  She is dedicated to her school and her profession.  She is always looking at new ways to benefit the students.  She recently created a “teacher book study” in which teachers can apply what they read about to the classroom.  Discenza says, “One can tell from her educational success and determination that she is always bettering herself; for her kids and her teammates.”  She attends development workshops and is part of the mentoring program for new teachers.  She gives her best each day and is known as a team leader.  She is truly an asset to the school, faculty and staff.

      Patty DeMott –Mark Twain Elementary School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      MIAMISBURG – Patty DeMott is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery.  She is a teacher at Mark Twain Elementary located in Montgomery County.  She teaches science/social studies to fifth graders.

      Amber Cristofaro, Community Outreach Coordinator, says that, “Ms. DeMott is a passionate and innovative asset to our students and school.  This year she wrote a grant to purchase an aeroponic tower garden for the fifth graders.  Students had the opportunity to learn about how crops are grown, hand pollination, the nutrients in fresh vegetables, scientific inquiry, and more,” The students were excited about the garden harvest and they were able to sample the fruits they planted with a salad party.  “Ms. DeMott is the epitome of an exceptional teacher, providing classroom engagement and student led learning opportunities daily.  She is a shining example on the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and giving back to the community,” says Cristofaro.

      Natalie Lonczak – R. B. Chamberlin Middle School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      TWINSBURG – Natalie Lonczak is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery.  She teaches honors language arts at R. B Chamberlin Middle School located in Summit County.

      Teacher Lynnette Jimenez says that, “Natalie’s teaching style fosters a learning environment where students demonstrate growth mindsets and are empowered.  She develops research based reading and writing lessons that include activities designed for advanced students, and she monitors these lessons with a variety of formative and summative assessments.  Her strong ability to analyze data further drives her instruction.

      Students are always eager to demonstrate their best effort in Natalie’s classroom, and evidence of tremendous growth is shown through district and state assessment.”  She is described as responsible, intelligent, dependable and organized.  “Her genuine enthusiasm and eagerness to make a difference  in the lives of students makes her the ultimate candidate for this award, says Jimenez.

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      EAST PALESTINE – Kristen Orr is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program.  She is a sixth- grade teacher at East Palestine Middle School located in Columbiana County.

      Orr is an Intervention Specialist for the sixth- grade subject areas.  Orr is described as giving, caring and generous.  She purchases incentive items to help motivate at-risk students and builds a rapport with them to help improve their behavior and their achievements.  “Mrs. Orr’s interest in helping support staff is also commendable.  She takes initiative to create innovative plans and accommodations to help colleagues with their challenging students,” says Liz Sherry, a counselor at the school.

      WICKLIFFE – Pamela Graves is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery.  She teaches band and choir at Wickliffe High School located in Lake County.  Graves is described as “a jewel” of Wickliffe City Schools.  Secretary Judy D’Angelo says that Graves teaches her students “pride, self- respect, and confidence” in all that they set out to do.

      EAST PALESTINE – Susan Wagner is a teacher at East Palestine Middle School located in Columbiana County.  She was recently honored by the Ohio Lottery as a Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program.

      Wagner teaches math to middle school students.  “Her passion to help students achieve is very noteworthy.  In addition to the classroom, Mrs. Wagner serves on several committees for the betterment of the school and community.  She is on the District’s Leadership Team and a member of the Key Communicators group bridging a gap between school and community,” says school counselor Elizabeth Sherry.  

      Wagner works with students though a new after school program called Genius Box, a program that is part of the “Arts and Starks County initiative” where a school receives materials to enable students to work on a project to evoke “creative thinking”.

      MAUMEE – Becky Puls was recently honored by the Ohio Lottery as a Teacher of the Month. She is a second- grade teacher at Fort Miami Elementary located in Lucas County.

      Puls is described as caring and able to make her students feel comfortable in her classroom.  She puts an emphasis on “social-emotional learning” and Positive Behavior Intervention.  Her classroom offers multiple seats to students like a ball chair or standing desk.  Her students work in small groups and she encourages them to do their best while challenging them. 

      She has a rewards system where students earn “Panther Paw stickers” and they cash those in for rewards that the students choose.  She has lesson plans that are creative and engaging to the student.  She has a Twitter and Instagram page so parents can see inside the classroom and see the important things that students are doing.  She finds the strengths in each student and encourages them to try their best and be a leader.

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      ATHENS – Cassie Goodwin is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program.  She is a teacher at Morrison-Gordon Elementary School located in Athens County.  

      Parent Alicia Porter comments that, “When my son started second grade he lacked a lot of confidence in his reading.  Within the first few months of being in her class, our son was excited to go to school and looked forward to reading and learning in general.”  Goodwin is described as “sweet and encouraging.”  Morrison-Gordon Elementary is fortunate to have Goodwin as a teacher; Goodwin encourages her students to achieve success in the classroom and try their best.

      Meagan McCoul – The Edge Academy

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      AKRON – Meagan McCoul is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery.  She teaches at The Edge Academy located in Summit County.

      “Meagan McCoul is an exceptional leader at The Edge Academy.  She is the coordinator of our Lighthouse Team and strives to offer help whenever she sees a need. She is always willing to take on additional roles and responsibilities.  She helps to create a school environment in which all students and parents feel welcome.  She does an amazing job of building relationships with both parents and students.  She always has a positive outlook on everything and greets every day with a smile,” says Kristina Young.

      Nicole Petro – East Palestine Middle School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      EAST PALESTINE – Nicole Petro is a teacher at East Palestine Middle School located in Columbiana County. She was recently named a Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery.

      Petro is the middle school art and Spanish teacher. After teaching at the high school level Petro was moved to the middle school.  “She accepted the challenge and has done a fantastic job creating high interest hands on art projects providing superior enrichment for our middle school students.  In addition to planning art lessons, Miss Petro is working with the English Department to create projects that parallel the lessons being taught in the English classes.  Miss Petro is a very kind and understanding teacher who is dedicated to student success.  Her care and compassion for current and former students is a wonderful tribute to her character.  She volunteers time before, during and after school to provide additional help to struggling students.” says Elizabeth Sherry, a school counselor.

      Adrianna November – Heights Middle School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – Adrianna November was recently recognized by the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program as a Teacher of the Month. She teaches eighth grade at Heights Middle School located in Cuyahoga County.

      Lynne Gaines, an Intervention Specialist at the school says that, “Adrianna would sit with me hour after hour explaining best practices of teaching and encouraging me to strive for excellence in the room.  As a special education teachers we face many challenges but she has always been encouraging to me and all of our students, giving in every single way and generous with her time teaching me and our students.”  She is a leader to her peers and a great role model and mentor.

      Emily Miller – Paulding Elementary

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      PAULDING – Emily Miller is a teacher at Paulding Elementary.  She works with fourth and fifth grade students.  She was recently honored by the Ohio Lottery as a Teacher of the Month. 

      “Mrs. Miller is a hard -working Intervention Specialist.  She takes each child and accepts them for who they are and works with them to make them successful. She is a veteran teacher and very deserving of this award,” says Jan Kohart.

      Jennifer Damon – Mark Twain Elementary

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      MIAMISBURG – Jennifer Damon is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery.  She teaches fourth grade at Mark Twain Elementary School located in Montgomery County.

      “Humble. Compassionate.  Giving. Inspiring.  These are the qualities that immediately come to mind when you think of Mrs. Jennifer Damon.  She consistently works hard to increase her student’s confidence, and models professionalism and respect on a daily basis.  She is a tireless advocate for her students and is relentless in her pursuit for professional development.” says Misty Tinney, Parent Teacher Association President.    She is able to “embrace” the diversity around her and always looks beyond her own needs to her students, coworkers and the families of the school.

      COMMERCIAL POINT – Patricia Meeks is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery.  She teaches at Teays Valley East and West Middle Schools and is dedicated to working with the high school band.

      Patrick DiNapoli – East Palestine Middle School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      EAST PALESTINE – Patrick DiNapoli is a Teacher of the Month for the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education program.  He is a teacher at East Palestine Middle School located in Columbiana County.

      He teaches eighth grade Science and STEM classes.  Elizabeth Sherry, a fellow colleague, says, “Mr. DiNapoli has educated his students with high rigor allowing them to perform extremely well on the Ohio State Assessment Exams.  He met the state indicator for Grade 8 Science for two consecutive school years.  Mr.  DiNapoli is a key contributor to our STEM & Science Night and assists with the schools Science Fair.”  DiNapoli is an asset to the school and is an outstanding teacher who cares about his students.

      PAULDING – Beth Kelly is a teacher at Paulding Elementary.  She was recently named a Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery.  She teaches kindergarten at the school.

      Kelly is described an awesome teacher.  Kelly is considered a master teacher and serves in many roles throughout the school system.  Her classroom is run with “love and discipline,” says Jan Kohart, a staff member at the school.

      Christopher Randolph – Mark Twain Elementary

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      MIAMISBURG – Christopher Randolph is a teacher at Mark Twain Elementary located in Montgomery County.  He was recently named a Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery.
       
      Randolph teaches fifth grade at the school and is an asset to the school. He cares about his students and takes a great interest in them both inside and outside the classroom.  He attends their sports games and is happy to come to after school events.  Randolph takes time to connect with the students throughout the entire building and gets to know their names.

      Tamette Duckworth – Princeton High School

      Teacher of the Month is recognized

      CINCINNATI – Tamette Duckworth is a teacher at Princeton High School located in Hamilton County.  She was recently named a Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery.  She teaches physical education to students in grades 9-12.

      Duckworth has taught and coached for more than 25 years. She developed the boys’ volleyball program and helped form them into not only great players but “outstanding young men.”  She is dedicated to her students both on and off the court.

      COMMERCIAL POINT – Reba Fisher is a teacher at Teays Valley West Middle School located in Pickaway County.  She teaches technology to grades sixth thru eighth.   She was recently named a Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery.

      Lazzara teaches eighth grade Algebra.  Elizabeth Sherry, a counselor at the school, says that, “Mrs. Lazzara is a very kind and understanding teacher who is dedicated to student success.  She volunteers time before, during and after school to provide additional help to struggling students.” She is a member of several committees and is an active member in the East Palestine Education Association.
