Community Outreach
Every month the Ohio Lottery accepts nominations for outstanding students and teachers from each of our nine regions across the state. As part of the Lottery's continued support of public education, we give special acknowledgement to these selected recipients for their work as role models for educational excellence.
Best Of The Class
"Best of the Class" is a Lottery program that recognizes outstanding high school graduates throughout Ohio by featuring them on television stations that carry the "Cash Explosion " show and nightly drawings.
The Lottery is proud to support various statewide events that help the surrounding communities and continue to put money back into the State of Ohio.
Coats for Kids Foundation
Lottery offices across the state collect new or gently worn coats, hats, gloves, and scarves to support this worthy cause. This campaign runs annually during the fall months.
Harvest for Hunger
This regionalbased hunger drive supports various hunger centers and food pantries throughout Northern Ohio. Employees donate non-perishable food items and money through various agencyrun fundraisers. Campaign runs the entire month of March.
Stuff the Bus
To kick-off the school year, employees donate new schools supplies during the month of August. Donations are delivered to school districts in need across the state.
Buckeye Boys/Girls State
As part of the long-standing support of this American Legion program, The Lottery’s participation in Buckeye Boys and Girls state provides students entering their sentior year of high school a hands-on experience in the operation of a city, county and state form of government, along with the relationship of one to the other in shaping Ohio government.
Cash Explosion is Facing Hunger on the Road to Riches
Cash Explosion and the Ohio Lottery are creating more than thrills and winning. We are helping Ohioans face hunger. In partnership with the Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks, Cash Explosion is collecting non-perishable food items and donations to stock the shelves of member foodbanks across Ohio. Over the next few months, participants and audience members are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to any Cash Explosion event for donation to the Ohio Association of Second harvest Food Banks.
